​ELECTION NOTICE 2024 - DIAKONIA UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES STUDENT UNION O'DIAKO
REPRESENTATIVE ELECTIONS

In the representative elections of the Diakonia University of Applied Sciences Student Union O'Diako in the autumn of 2024, the student union's representative council for the term of office from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, will be chosen. In these elections, a total of 10 members and 10 deputy members of the representative council will be elected. The elections will be conducted by the decision of the Student Union's Central Election Committee as follows:

-Candidate nomination period: September 16 - October 7, 2024 (starts on the start date at 12:00 PM and ends on the end date at 8:00 PM).
-Publication of candidate lists: October 11, 2024.
-Voting days: October 28 - November 6, 2024 (voting starts on the first voting day at 12:00 PM and ends on the last voting day at 12:00 PM).
-Announcement of election results: Starting from November 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM (announcement of election results).

Voting will be conducted electronically. All regular members of the Diakonia University of Applied Sciences Student Union O'Diako who have paid their membership fee by October 7, 2024, at 8:00 PM, are eligible to vote. Voting will take place through Tuudo.
Candidates can run for election if they have paid their membership fee to the Diakonia University of Applied Sciences Student Union O'Diako by the end of the nomination period on October 7, 2024, at 8:00 PM.
To become a candidate, you must complete an electronic candidate nomination form.
Candidates can form an electoral alliance with a maximum of ten (10) members. An electoral alliance must designate a representative, who can also be a person outside the alliance. The electoral alliance is formed by completing a founding statement, which must include the names of all candidates belonging to the alliance. The founding statement of the electoral alliance must be submitted within the nomination period. The alliance must have a name, which will be published in the election notices. The name or symbol of the electoral alliance must not violate anyone's personal rights, be commercial, or otherwise inappropriate. The Central Election Committee has the right to instruct the electoral alliance to rename itself or reject its symbol. A candidate can belong to only one electoral alliance. If a candidate has not indicated their membership in an electoral alliance, they will be considered an independent candidate.

The list of candidates will be published on the student union's website and social media. The list of candidates will be available on the student union's website until the end of the elections. Requests for corrections to the list of candidates must be submitted to the Central Election Committee by email to the address toiminnanjohtaja@odiako.fi within seven (7) days of its publication. More detailed rules governing the elections can be found in the O'Diako rules and the election regulations, which are available in the student union's materials bank at www.odiako.fi. Links to election documents are also available on the student union's website. The primary working language of the representative council is Finnish, but participation in English is also possible. Any exceptions to this election announcement will be communicated by the student union's Central Election Committee through the student union's website at www.odiako.fi.
